The Tai Chi Master

You know how they say... People usually find things to do when they've got nothing to do? Just like me right now... Bloggin' more recently because I'm left all alone in the house by myself feeling bored (okay, maybe not that bad).

The same thing goes for my mom... She's been travelling around in the past few years to many many places. In just the last one year, she's gone to Australia, China, India, Vietnam, Cambodia and probably some other countries that I've forgotten about. And how the hell does she get the energy to do all this? I wonder... especially when she has to take care of 2 troublesome kids over in the UK, and make that 3, with the 'big baby' (that's what my mom calls my dad, haha) at home.

And then I remembered. In the last couple of years, mom has been going round to Frankel Ave to do some Tai Chi. Now, I'm not sure if it's the Tai Chi that's rejuvenated her. But everytime I think about it, it gets me crackling... Just can't imagine my mom going "Haiii yahhh!". Lol. Okay, I better not crack too much jokes now. Zul and the rest have kept me laughing the whole night till my stomach's cramping.

So, just as I was left to wonder about the beneficial effects of Tai Chi, I glanced upon an article on the Metro (free morning newspaper in the UK just like Today) about this Tai Chi Master.

A dairy farmer who believes a happy cow is a productive cow has discovered an unusual way to relax his herd and increase milk yields – tai chi.

Cool cattle: Rob Taverner performs tai chi in front of his cows every morning because he believes it relaxes them and they produce more milk

Rob Taverner performs the ancient martial art in front of his 100 cows every morning to get them in the right moo-d to produce lots of milk.

The 44-year-old organic farmer visits the animals at 9am each day to run through his ten-minute routine of slow movements and breathing techniques – dressed in his distinctive overalls and wellies.

He said: 'Tai chi is all about leaving your problems behind and getting into a better zone and my mood definitely transfers to the cows.

Now, that got me thinking a little. Many women these days find it difficult to breast-feed their babies even though they know it's so much better for them. Besides preventing breast cancer and providing more nutrients to their babies, breast feeding helps to develop special bonds between a mom and her child as well, though they often invite jealousy from their husbands (you suckers... I admit I might be one of them). I say... moms who've just given birth... Go do some Tai Chi to get the glands running and pumping.

Ma, I have to say, you're a little bit too old for that now. Hahaha!

Tai Cheese, anyone?
